Cum Seminar on “Student Affairs in the Post-Occupy Era”


A series of events will be organised by HKSSA on 27 March 2015 (Friday):


  • New student hostels and innovation-focused facilities are in place at PolyU. A visit to these facilities will be arranged.


  • With increased students’ awareness and participation in social and political activities, 2014 has been a challenging year for student works in the tertiary education institutions. To discuss the challenges in the new environment, a seminar on “Student Affairs in the Post-Occupy Era” 後佔中時代的學生工作 will be organized.  Professor Simon Shen (沈旭暉) and Mr Ivan Choy (蔡子强) of CUHK have agreed to speak in the seminar.


  • HKSSA members are most encouraged to join the HKSSA AGM and the dinner gathering.

HKSSA 30th Anniversary Dinner


The Hong Kong Student Services Association (HKSSA) had its 30th Anniversary celebration on 6 December 2014 at YMCA of Hong Kong!


Established in 1984, HKSSA is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To celebrate the anniversary and to facilitate friendly interaction among members and colleagues, HKSSA will organise an anniversary dinner, at which Mr Chong Chan Yau has kindly agreed to give a keynote speech on his experience and insight on student affairs. Mr Chong has extensive experience in student development and community services.

Visit to the Newest Full-residential College – C.W. Chu College



The CUHK operates a unique College system. The plethora of non-formal learning opportunities offered by the Colleges complement the formal curricula. Colleges are where undergraduate students receive pastoral care and whole-person education, and offered exciting opportunities with which to colour their university life. The number of Colleges increased from three in 1963 when CUHK was established to nine now.


The Hong Kong Student Services Association (HKSSA) invites you to join a visit to the C.W. Chu College, the newest College at CUHK. It is unique in a number of ways, including its full-residential nature.

Debriefing: Study Tour to University of Macau

The Hong Kong Student Services Association (HKSSA) invites you to join the first event of this year - Debriefing: Study Tour to University of Macau.

73 delegates from 10 institutions joined the study visit to the University of Macau on 28 March 2014. The University of Macau (UM) was founded in 1981. Through thirty years of development, UM has become a leading university and also the only publiccomprehensive university in Macao. The delegates visited the new campus at Hengqin, breakout sessions covering various areas concerning student services were conducted afterwards.

We received positive feedbacks from the colleagues who joined this study tour. The Debriefing is a valuable learning opportunity for colleagues to share what they have seen and learnt in this study tour. This event welcomes all HKSSA members and non-members to join. Details are as follows:
