Hong Kong Student Services Association and Macau Student Affairs Association Exchange in Hong Kong Local Universities
The one-day visit to Hong Kong local universities was successfully held on 4 February 2026, with the participation of 53 Student Affairs practitioners from the Hong Kong Student Services Association and the Macau Student Affairs Association. The programme was conducted at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), under the theme “Innovation in Student Engagement: Leveraging Campus Resources and Technology in the Post Pandemic”.
The visiting programme commenced in the morning at HKUST with a welcoming address by Dr Cheung Pui Sze, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Student Services Association, followed by introductory remarks from Dr Remus K. W. Wong, Chairman of the Macau Student Affairs Association, and Professor Leung Pakwo, Dean of Students of HKUST respectively. The afternoon session at HKBU began with welcoming remarks delivered by Professor Amy Lee, Director of Student Affairs, Hong Kong Baptist University.
The Programme comprised professional sharing sessions on successful student engagement practices, structured group discussions, guided campus tours at both universities, and a concluding roundup and group sharing session. Through these activities, participants gained exposure to diverse approaches to student engagement, including cocurricular initiatives, the cultivation of student psychological resilience, and the application of technology in engaging students.
Key outcomes of the visit included enhanced mutual understanding of student affairs practices between Hong Kong and Macau, strengthened professional networks among participating practitioners, and the exchange of practical insights on leveraging campus resources to support student development. The event provided a robust and collegial platform for in-depth professional dialogue and knowledge exchange, thereby establishing a strong and constructive foundation for sustained cross regional collaboration and continued engagement among Student Affairs professionals from both regions.
